Awam Vajra Armor Protection Wheel
The Awam Vajra Armor Protection Wheel was designed by His Holiness Khenchen Lama Rinpoche in March 2022, following an auspicious visionary dream in which the enlightened wrathful manifestation of Guru Padmasambhava, Dorje Drolo, appeared and bestowed this sacred inspiration.
The front of the Protection Wheel depicts the glorious form of Dorje Drolo, the wrathful emanation of Guru Padmasambhava who subdues obstructing forces, tames harmful influences and protects the Buddha Dharma for the benefit of all sentient beings. Many accomplished lineage masters have explained that Dorje Drolo and Dorje Gotrab are inseparable in essence, being different manifestations of the same enlightened activity.
Encircling the sacred image are the mantras of Guru Padmasambhava, Dorje Drolo, Dorje Gotrab and the Mantra of Dependent Origination. These profound mantras invoke the blessings of the Three Jewels and Three Roots, accumulate merit and wisdom, purify obscurations and establish the auspicious causes for protection, harmony, and the swift accomplishment of virtuous aspirations.
The reverse of the Protection Wheel features the sacred Namkchag Dharma Wheel. At its centre rests the indestructible seed syllable HUM, symbolising the enlightened mind of all the Buddhas. The Sun and Moon signify the indivisible union of skilful means and wisdom, while the emblems of the Five Buddha Families represent the complete purification and transformation of the five poisons into the five primordial wisdoms.
The Awam Vajra Armor Protection Wheel is a sacred Vajra Fire Mandala, created as a powerful support for blessings, protection and the continuity of Dharma practice.
When worn or respectfully enshrined with faith and devotion, it serves as a support for receiving the blessings of Guru Padmasambhava, averting obstacles and adverse conditions, pacifying harmful influences and protecting the practitioner’s body, speech, and mind.
May all who encounter this sacred Protection Wheel accumulate vast merit, remove obstacles to the path and swiftly accomplish both temporary well-being and the ultimate attainment of complete enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings.
